| The UK Corporate Governance Code applies to all companies with a Premium Listing of equity shares, regardless of whether they are incorporated in the UK or elsewhere.It applies for financial years starting on or after 29 June 2010.
This was changed in response to the Walker Review in November 2009, the new Listing Regime introduced in April 2010, and will impact the Listing Rules and result in changes to the Disclosure and Transparency Rules. In July 2010 the FRC has released the first ever Stewardship Code the purpose of which ”is to improve the quality of corporate governance through promoting better dialogue between shareholders and company boards, and more transparency about the way in which investors oversee the companies they own.” FRC |
