Financial Services

Governance is a hot topic in financial services

For decades the financial markets self corrected and the inevitable collapse took four decades to happen – but it did.  It did because of complacency that it would always be able to self correct irrespective of how far it was stretched.

If certain actions and attitudes had been different, we could be in a different position globally, but we are not…

Financial services governance, post the credit crunch, was first addressed by the Walker Review, published in final form in November 2009.  This was followed by the UK Corporate Governance Code, an update in the FSA Handbook and the issuing of the new Guidelines on Board Effectivenss over the following 18 months.

This is a handful of “requirement” for directors to address.  Good Governance is not an option and enlisting experienced support in the process is cost effective relative to the higher value gained.
