Chris is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Global Governance Services Ltd and holds a number of board appointments in the UK and overseas. He is a regular chairman and speaker at international conferences, and has written many articles and books on corporate governance. His latest book, “Corporate Governance in the European Union” 

Chris is also an Honorary Visiting Professor at Cass Business School, City University London, a Research Fellow of Cranfield Business School, a Fellow of the Caux Round Table, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Executive Fellow of Henley Management College. He has an MBA, an MSc and an MPhil and is a Chartered Secretary and Administrator.

  Professor Mike Power       

 Professor of Accounting at London School of Economics 

Mike is also a director at the Centre of analysis of risk and regulation at the London School of Economics and is a Non-Executive Director at St James Place Partnership where he Chairs the Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee. 

Mike is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an Associate of the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation. He sits on the risk management committee of the London School of Economics and lectures and writes on risk management, regulation and compliance issues.

  Martin Webster       

 Partner at Pinsent Masons LLP

Martin has practised as a corporate lawyer in the City for 30 years.  He has acted for both quoted companies and growing private businesses and now heads the corporate governance unit at Pinsent Masons, advising companies and their boards on governance, risk management and general compliance issues.

Martin is the editor and lead author of The Director’s Handbook, the Institute of Directors’ guide to a director’s duties, responsibilities and liabilities (3rd edition, May 2010). He has also written numerous articles on governance related issues and lectures widely on the subject.

Dr Mike Rugg-Gunn 

 Director at HADIL

Mike is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who has worked for Norman Broadbent for eight years. During this time he has worked with a number of blue chip global organisations, mostly in the areas of executive assessment and development helping organisations to identify their best talent, develop it and retain it within the business.

Prior to starting a consultancy career, Mike worked for the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency where he worked as a senior psychologist researching critical areas of teams and team training and the application of computer based training techniques (in which he also completed his doctorate). During this time Mike was also a liaison between the Royal Navy and US Navy on areas of joint interest in the areas of naval training and development. Therefore, Mike both understands and is experienced in the conversion of defence research initiatives into broader commercial applications. During his time at DERA, he authored many research papers for the UK Ministry of Defence and was a frequent conference presenter and public speaker.

Mike has a first degree (BSc. Hons) in Psychology from the University of London; a masters degree (MSc.) in Occupational and Organisational Psychology from the University of East London and a Doctorate in Occupational Psychology, also from the University of East London. He is also an assessor for the Division of Occupational Psychology within the British Psychological Society.

  Professor Bryan Foss 

 Director Foss Initiatives 

Bryan is an active Non-Executive Director, Audit & Risk Chair, Board Adviser and Visiting Professor with Bristol Business School. His non-executive and board advisory roles currently include the Government Office for the South East (GOSE), Customer Essential and the Wellness Fund I. In a prior board NED and assurance role, for three years Bryan advised the Department for Work & Pensions.

Having worked extensively in financial services for more than 30 years, Bryan’s FS knowledge of board decision making, risk & compliance, change management, channel management, IT systems and numerous other topics combine to make him a unique end-to-end assurance expert and board adviser.

 Bryan is extensively qualified in board governance (FIoD, DipIoD), management (MBA), marketing (FIDM, FCIM & DipM), change (CEng), IT systems (FBCS & CITP) and finance (ACCA CDipAF). As visiting professor of marketing, Bryan has researched and co-authored six marketing and FS business books with Merlin Stone and is the IT Editor of the Journal of Financial Services Marketing.

  Dr Stephen Sloan

Stephen’s corporate and consulting career has included: the delivery of organisation, people and change management consulting projects to a range of FTSE250 businesses; an interim line management role managing 30 project consultants; senior management in a “Big Four” consultancy and a consulting and management role within a US commercial Insurance business. His focus has been on the management of top teams, change management, people-related and HR issues.

Over the last five years much of his work has also included strategic business redesign and IT implementation assignments. He has recently completed projects to outsource HR and payroll systems, relocate a large scale manufacturing facility and the transition from a fully own to joint venture status of a national distribution business. Stephen is a Chartered Psychologist and his early career included the directorship of a management consultancy business and internal project positions in telecoms and the US Air Force.
